Manhattan, I love you so much

photo taken by Xu Tao

Every day and every night, when I look out of the window of my bedroom at New Residence, I feel my life is brilliant! The manhattan out of my window is so real and unreal! And I can't stop imagining Spiderman or superman's stopping by. Dawn, mid-day, dusk and midnight are the best moments of the view. It's amazing to see the dancing of sunshine, lights, sky, clouds and the buildings. You just can't get upset because Manhattan will cheer you up when looking at her.

I'm so happy to tell you my friends that I recieved the admission letter from the School of Visual Arts for fall 2010 semester. I will study in the Master of Fine Arts program in Computer Arts, with the start of classes on September 7.
I'm so thankful for my mom and all my families and friends who support me during my applying school time. One big step closer to my dream. I will work hard for it.

A new painting

This painting I draw displays a scene that 4 fisherwomen are weaving the nets on the beach of my hometown. I spent 3 hours drawing this one. One mistake I made is that I creat this pic in so few pixels that I can't draw some details about it.

New artwork

This morning, I took the GRE composition part. Not that bad and not that good. What do I plan to do this afternoon? Of course, paint!
This new artwork took me totally seven hours to finish. I havenot have supper yet and it's 21:20 now. But I'm so delighted to see my new artwork done. I learn the book "The photoshop and painter artist tablet book" written by Cher Threinen-Pendarvis all by myself. I followed every instructions the book tells me. But I do the line drawing straight on my Wacom, instead of scanning the paper into the computer.
And I will show you the steps I do the work:

Chinese students prepare for GRE composition

Here is the method we Chinese students prepare for the GRE Argument composition part. Here is one of the template.
"Merely based on the unfounded assumption and dubious(suspicious) evidence, the statement draws the conclusion that __. To substantiate( support ) this conclusion, the arguer points out the evidence that__. In addtion, he indicates that__. Furthermore, he cites the result of a recent survery in support of this recommendation. At first glance, this argument appears to be somewhat convincing, but further reflection reveals that it omits. Some substantial concerns that should be addressed in the argument. From the logical perspective, this argument suffers from N logical flaws.."
I admit it's a good solution to argument writing. What I hate is Template. It limit our creative thinking. When Chinese students met with an argument, the template rather the true meaningful content occupies their brain. But, any formal documents are written in tempate way. So think it again, it makes sense.

Missing You

Open the facebook of you
a black and white photo attracts me
You, lifting your chin gentlely
like you don't care anything
under the sunglasses
I wonder what a world you are looking at
how wish I could appear
in the refletion of your glasses

I'm waiting
waiting you to update something
update my new hope for you
When I checked my email
I was excited to find you update your carepage
suddently, I felt nervous
I don't want to hear bad news

My earphones is playing 'Sweet and Wild' by Dierks Bentley
which is my favorate song now
I never felt this song any blue
this time, I just felt.

Forever Enthralled

Last night, I watched a TV show "鲁豫有约", this time it was about the great master of Peking Opera Mei Lanfang("梅兰芳"). I payed for this TV show and I'm not regret at all after finished watching it.
Mei(Mei Lanfang, 1894-1961) takes roll of Hua Dan('花旦', which means a subdebutante of naivety). He learned Peking Opera at 8 and performed on the stage at 10. He became a big star after he gave a performance at Shanghai in 1913. A saying spread among Shanghai can describe how famous he is, that is 'You should marry a girl like Mei and have a son like Zhou'. 1914, he was invited to perform in Tokyo. 1930, Mei was invited to go to America. He performed Peking Opera at several cities, such as New York, Chicago, San fransisco, Los Ageles and won big success. Local newspaper wrote, Chinese opera is not realistic trueness, but artistic trueness, a established way of performace which is more real than realistic trueness. He is described as " more feminine than woman on the stage, more masculine than man in real life". When Anti-Japanese war occured, the Japanese want to invited Mei to give performance in order to make a gloss of peace among the Chinese. Mei kept beard to show his protest. The Japanese froze Mei's money in the bank. He had to sell paintings to raise his family. The Japanese bought all his paintings, when Mei knew it, he immediately destroyed all his paintings.

" Forever Enthralled" is a film directed by Chen Kaige. Chen is a famous director in China, he also directed" Farewell My Concubine" '霸王別姬'. " Forever Enthralled" is very worthy watching. Mei's youngest son commented that his family won't have to make a film about his father for several decades.

Hope you like it.

Go shopping

Mom, brother and I went shopping for the new clothes of the spring festival. Brother bought a set of formal suit for his coming journey to Tokyo. I was quite jealous of him for being able to wear suits. So I wore his clothes and took some pics.
I decided and bought my new clothes really fast for I hate trying so many different clothes.
We went home by bus. It stopped at every but station. A crowd of people got on the bus. I noticed some one look at me several times. I thought they might look at my new hair style. Suddenly mom ordered me to sit on the bus. I sensed something strange, but couldn’t figured it out. The bus stopped and went on. The bus became empty. After we got out of the bus, mom asked me if I noticed some people strange. I said no. She said they were theives. She knew I didn’t carry cellphone, so she didn’t worry about me on the bus. What? But I carried my wallet. Damn, where is my wallet? Oh, It was at my right pocket, luckily, I didn’t forget to fasten my pocket. I asked mom why not remind they were thieves on the bus. Mom said people on the bus all know except you. Even if Mom said they were thieves, we had no proof utill they stole something. Ok, I was away from home too long and forget how to protect myself from the thieves. Mom got her bag robbed, dad got his 5 cellphones stealed on the bus and brother’s 3. As it to me, haha, I haven’t got my anthing precious lost yet. Maybe it’s so called an idiot has the felicity for idiot.

Amazing Grace

And this audio can best describe what a hard job for me to learn to sing english songs. I ate tongue, lost the rhythm and misprononced the words. Anyway, it aches happily.

The Archery Class Is Over

I love archery! But it comes an end. All of us passed the test. I made a score 3 rings above the acceptance rings. Not a good score taking my usual score into consideration. Anyway, I love archery.

Just Look Further

Addiction is without doubt a bad thing, really bad, especially to online games. I haven't played that for totally half an year. I'm peaceful, until today, they say something new with the game, my blood burned. Damn!
I was thinking...maybe I could creat a new game ID, play it slowly and leisurely so that it won't damage my studies. Bullshit! You can make as many excuses as you can if you want something. Just look further, what you'll gain from it. You won't be satisfied with such a low process, you would say I should do everything as well as I can including game, then you go into it again. See, two inner voices, they are battling.

You say you won't regret

You say you won't regret playing the game
I know you are comforting yourself
or just pretending to be a strong man
after you did the wrong thing

You said you were green hand
maybe you said it truly
maybe you just want to receive more praise
Someone think you are modest
but I often suspect it

You are regretting now
afraid of innuendo to yourself
Just a poem, little to do with truth
See
you are comforting yourself,
again
you are a fool

Never Took The Time

A bad experience with a stranger on the street, an unfavorable passion and a song "Never Took The Time" by Akon contribute to this shabby poem.

So many people
walking
on the crowded street
incuding
me
heading for shool
the destination
where I can
do nothing
inluding
walking
except
wandering

Sun
dizzy
wind
annoying
I was accelerating.

A woman blocked my way
A stranger
Not like a person seeking help
but making trouble.
An interrupter.

Retracting my sight
back to the ground
Never took the time
to stop
But I forgot to retract my ear
she
was chiding
behind my back

Ashamed
I couldn't help
taking the time
to be
ashamed.

I criticized
people were becoming cold with each other
This time I know
I'm not the exception.
Sad.
God.
I'm thinking of you,
again.
